Nakama, Inc. (“Nakama,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the B2B marketplace at anibiz.com (the “Platform”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use the Platform. It is designed for clarity for our enterprise B2B users (licensors, licensees, distributors, agents, and retailers in the anime/IP industry) while complying with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where applicable, and other relevant laws.

This Policy is incorporated into our Terms of Service. By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described here. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

We do not sell personal information as defined under CCPA/CPRA. We do not currently share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Personal information is primarily processed in the United States. For users in other jurisdictions:

  • Japan (APPI): We obtain consent where required for cross-border transfers or ensure equivalent protections through contracts. Japanese users have rights to notification, disclosure, correction, deletion, and cessation of use.
  • EU/UK (GDPR): We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), consent, or other lawful bases for transfers. Data subjects have rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection (including against automated decision-making). In the event of a security breach that compromises your personal information, we will notify affected users and regulators as required by applicable law.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information as shown in the table above or as long as necessary for the purposes outlined, legal compliance, or dispute resolution. When no longer needed, we securely delete or de-identify the data.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Platform is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. For material changes, we will notify you by email or prominent notice and, where feasible, seek affirmative consent or re-acceptance consistent with applicable law.
